The Roseau Pioneer Farm and Village began by action of the Roseau Lions Club in 1975 to establish an agricultural museum in the area.  It was to honor the pioneers and also to show the youth of present and future generations how our ancestors made their living.

The Farm & Village was later reorganized as a public non-profit organization. Grants were provided by the Lions Club, Roseau County Commissioners, and the Hartz Foundation. Memberships, donations, and proceeds from the annual Fall Festival provide for most of the operating costs.

Volunteer labor has been responsible for almost 100% of the Farm's development. A typical year at the farm involves work nights by volunteers Tuesday evenings throughout the summer.

A summer host/hostess gives tours afternoons through the summer months. The grounds and buildings are used for weddings, family gatherings, class reunions, and picnics by area groups.

The public is encouraged to participate by volunteering their time, talents, and financial support to maintain and enhance the Farm.

It has been said, "We cannot chart the future until we have seen the past." The Pioneer Farm and Village, the "Hidden Jewel" of Roseau County, wishes to preserve our past, and you are invited to share it with us.
